Aegean Airlines – New Protocol & Product Post COVID-19

AEGEAN announces its new protocol in light of COVID-19 to ensure the safety and comfort of its passengers.
Key points are as follows:
Airport Ticket Offices
No touch policy to maintain social distancing
- Plexiglass have been placed in the majority of ticket offices in Greek airports. Currently in the process of installing the remaining ones
- Flooring stickers on queuing points
- Staff wearing masks & gloves (in case plexiglass does not exist)
- Dispensers with sanitary liquid are available.
Check In Counters
Airports' responsibility. Expecting protocol / recommendations.
Gate : No touch Policy
Announcements to encourage passengers follow social distancing instructions.
- We ask the passenger to:
- scan his/her boarding pass himself/herself
- Show his/her documents to handling agents
- Handling agents wear mask and gloves and do not touch passengers documents.
- As of May 4, face cover is obligatory with exception of children. Currently we offer masks to passengers who do not have their own face cover. If passenger denies, passenger will not be boarded.
- As a social distancing measure, passengers will be asked to have only 1 item in cabin. They will be encouraged to check-in their carry-on bag for free (provided they comply with the current baggage policy).
Boarding
- If by bus - use of 50% bus capacity or 40 people maximum per ride (large buses).
- If through bridge, boarding follows the “NEO” process: (1. Pax with window seat 2. Pax with Middle seat 3. Pax with isle seat).
On Board
- Cleaning process. The time of cleaning has been doubled. Extensive cleaning on seats, trays, windows, sidewalls, toilets, doors etc
- Head covers will be removed.
Disinfection
- In all aircraft once per month (to be confirmed).
- In all aircraft international flights upon arrival in Athens.
- In all aircraft with suspected case (domestic).
- Crew members wear masks & gloves. In repatriation flights they also wear glasses & covers (like raincoats).
- Face cover is obligatory as of May 4.
- Middle seat will not be kept empty. No changes in check-in. In FAQs we will note that upon availability passengers can ask to move to another seat.
- Shop on board has been suspended.
- All magazines and leaflets will be removed with the exception of the safety card.
Food & Beverage Service
Current: trolleys in front of seat. Passengers receive a bottle of water and antiseptic wipes.
Near Future (Phase A):
Domestic: Offering: water, antiseptic wipes and pre-packed dessert.
International: Offering water, antiseptic wipes, sandwich & pre-packed dessert in a lunch box or bag.
Disembarkation
Announcement by the crew on a similar procedure to on-boarding process.
