Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services Wins Best Cargo Airline – Africa Award

Ethiopian Cargo & Logistic Services, Africa’s largest network cargo operator and multi- award  winner  has  been  once  again  crowned  with  ‘2019  Best  Cargo  Airline  –Africa’ Award at the Air Cargo News Awards ceremony held on April 26, 2019 in London, UK.

Air Cargo News is the leading source of cargo news, information, interviews of industry leaders,  industry  analysis  and  reports  to  the  global  airfreight  industry.    The  “Cargo Airline  of  the  Year”  award  from  Air  Cargo  News  is  the  most  prestigious  and  highly respected award of recognition in the air cargo industry. 

Regarding the award, Group Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam, remarked “We are truly honored to have received this prestigious award and  the  accolade  is  an  endorsement  of  our  dedication  and  our  heavy  investment    in expanding our cargo services globally and a testimony to the leading role that Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services is playing to the socio- economic development in  Africa and the rest of the world with safe, secure, dependable and competitive  cargo and logistics services.’’ 

In  line  with  its  Vision  2025,  Ethiopian  Cargo  &  Logistics  Services  has  built  the  largest cargo terminal in Africa with an annual capacity of around 1 million tons and delivers cargo services spanning across 44 international destinations in Africa, the Gulf, Middle East, Asia, North Americas, Latin America and Europe with its dedicated freighters of 11 B777F and 2 B738F as well as over 400 tons of daily belly capacity. 

With a rapid growth trajectory, Ethiopian Cargo & Logistic Services provides industry- leading  supply  chain  management  catalyzing  the  import  and  export  economies  of African countries. 

By 2025, Ethiopian Cargo & Logistic Services envisions to achieve an annual revenue of 2  billion  dollars,  annual  uplift  of  820,000  tons  and  serve  60  international  freighter destinations with 19 dedicated freighters.
