On 13 September 2023 TAL Aviation Hellas headed by Country Manager Mrs Maria Mastoraki took part in the exiting event dedicated to El Al Israel Airlines 75 years celebration.

The Ambassador of Israel Mr Noam Katz honored the event with his presence.

Among the guests there also were The General Secretary of National Tourism Organization Mr Dimitrios Fragkakis, Dir. Communications & Marketing, Athens International Airport Mrs Ioanna Papadopoulou, The AVP Global Operations EL AL Mr Kobi Golan, TAL Aviation Global Sales Director Mr Rami Holtzman.

El Al, Israel’s national carrier, is experiencing high growth in the Greek market. The airline is recording a strong performance this year with traffic to Athens during January-August up by 33 percent (120,000 passengers) compared to 2019.

“It is impressive how passenger traffic from the Israeli market to Athens has developed throughout the years… From 2009 onwards – despite crises and disruptions – the Israeli market has grown sixfold to 2022… And it is recording record growth in 2023,” Mrs Ioanna Papadopoulou said.

“Greece is very popular for Israelis, mostly for vacation but also for business… Israelis feel very much at ‘home away from home’ in Greece and feel really connected to the very similar character of the Greek people,” Mr Kobi Golan said, adding that Greeks mainly travel to Israel for religious tourism and visit Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
