Widerøe partners with Norwegian on domestic PSO routes

-
The agreement applies to Widerøe’s PSO (Public Service Obligation) routes and Norwegian’s domestic routes. From March 2018, it will be possible to book connecting flights with Widerøe and Norwegian.
Widerøe is doing several things to ensure that customers in small places have a good selection of flights. We are continuing the great collaboration with SAS, establishing new direct routes, and entering into a partnership agreement with Norwegian on the STOL network.
The agreement will provide Widerøe’s customers with greater options with regard to travel itineraries, timetables and prices. Through tickets will give the customer a much shorter travel time. The minimum time between departures is reduced from 2 hours to 30 minutes at all airports except Oslo Gardemoen, which is 45 minutes. Baggage will be checked through to end destination in Norway, and passengers will be taken care of should cancellations or delays occur.
-Widerøe is working continuously on improving the flight availability for our customers in regional Norway. We are keeping our great collaboration with SAS and the customer gets more travel options to choose from. Overall, this means better availability so this will be good for Widerøe's customers, says Christian Skaug, Director of Network & Pricing at Widerøe.
The agreement with Norwegian has been entered into in accordance with the provisions contained in the tender agreement between Widerøe and the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications.
